The story is good. There are recording errors where the narrator repeats themselves. The narrator also has an uneven cadence of speech which makes speeding it up sound weird for the first few books. By the last book this cadence issue is more even. The errors happen in all the books.

This is all the backstory of our witch before meeting with the shifters.
