À propos de cet audio

The next novel featuring Lieutenant Eve Dallas from #1 New York Times bestselling author J.D. Robb!

Sometimes "brotherhood" is just another word for conspiracy...

Dennis Mira just had two unpleasant surprises. First he learned that his cousin Edward was secretly meeting with a real estate agent about their late grandfather's magnificent West Village brownstone, despite the promise they both made to keep it in the family. Then, when he went to the house to confront Edward about it, he got a blunt object to the back of the head.

Luckily Dennis is married to Charlotte Mira, the NYPSD's top profiler and a good friend of Lieutenant Eve Dallas. When the two arrive on the scene, he explains that the last thing he saw was Edward in a chair, bruised and bloody. When he came to, his cousin was gone. With the mess cleaned up and the security disks removed, there's nothing left behind but a few traces for forensics to analyze.

As a former lawyer, judge, and senator, Edward Mira mingled with the elite and crossed paths with criminals, making enemies on a regular basis. Like so many politicians, he also made some very close friends behind closed - and locked - doors. But a badge and a billionaire husband can get you into places others can't go, and Eve intends to shine some light on the dirty deals and dark motives behind the disappearance of a powerful man, the family discord over a multimillion-dollar piece of real estate...and a new case that no one saw coming.

This book was more enjoyable because it showed us that Eve Dallas, notwithstanding her tragic and traumatic childhood, is able to form bonds of friendship and that in her own way, she can show her love and affection, as she does for Dr. Mira's husband, Dennis Mira. Dallas has a soft spot for Dennis, and Dr. Mira, throughout the series of books, has filled the role of quasi-mother for Eve. Roarke, as usual, is rich and sexy, and irresistible. Every woman needs a Roarke in her life. The narrator, who I believe has been narrating the J.D. Robb books for a while, is easy to listen to. If you are a fan of the "In Death" series of books, you will be a fan of this book. #Audible1

It's a good book overall. It's a bit darker perhaps than other books, and has some very strong themes.

The performer is great as always, however, note, I agree with a separate review that there is one character voice mistake.. I'll leave it as an Easter Egg.

Good book overall

I am a huge fan of the "In Death" series, but this one stands out as my all time favourite. The story is great, but the underlying story of Eve and her relationship with Dennis Mira is moving. It added a new facet to the ongoing story. #Audible1

I love this book

I love all the In Death Series, the progression of the main story along with each case Dallas works on. This was a case that had many personal demons rearing their heads, and the ways in which both Dallas and her extended family of friends help her deal always warms my heart. Were I to ask one question of Ms. Robb, it would be why such an amazing character as Eve Dallas had to wait until her late twenties to actually start living. Other than that, I love the characterizations and would recommend this series to anyone looking for a long series that keeps delivering quality stories every time.

Just keeps getting better!!
