À propos de cet audio
Bryony and her sisters have come down in the world. Their merchant father died trying to reclaim his fortune and left them to eke out a living in a village far from their home in the city. But when Bryony is caught in a snowstorm and takes refuge in an abandoned manor, she stumbles into a house full of dark enchantments. Is the Beast that lives there her captor or a fellow prisoner? Is the house her enemy or her ally? And why are roses blooming out of season in the courtyard? Armed only with gardening shears and her wits, Bryony must untangle the secrets of the house before she - or the Beast - are swallowed by them.

I thought the narrator was quite good but I am fairly sure this is not her natural accent. It was really well done but there was just an air of affectation that threw me out of the story sometimes.
Great Retelling

HOWEVER!!!
I also was looking/hoping for a romance and despite its absence, I didn't leave disappointed! A nice break after all the 10+ hours long romantacies I've been marathoning.
The characters were likeable and the narrator, despite being a woman, portrayed the man beast quite convincingly. (No don't worry, she didn't do anything weird with her voice.)
I don't want to give any spoilers away, so I won't, but there was definitely meant to be a creepy, dark vibe from one of the... "characters" and I def felt it! Who knew?? Good writers know.
And man did I CRINGE the first time - and a couple times thereafter - he says... the thing he says at dinner. (You'll know and hopefully cringe too!)
Overall I really liked this book and do not regret the 4+ hrs I spent listening to it.
An interesting retelling, somewhat dark.
