À propos de cet audio

What's a bigger disaster than being stranded on an ice planet with a bunch of aliens, never to return home? Resonating to the biggest jerk of all those aliens, of course. I hate M'tok, and it seems to be mutual. He thinks I'm ugly and unpleasant, and doesn't understand why I don't just fling myself at him. In his eyes, resonance has decided, and that's that.

Problem is, resonance keeps pushing us together. And when that doesn't make me jump into his furs...he steals me away from the camp. I can't avoid him if there's nowhere to go.

I want to hate him even more for that. But I keep finding out that M'tok isn't who I thought he was. And the man I hate? Doesn't hate me at all...

Contains mature themes.

I think the beauty of this particular story and the battle between these two characters is the fact that they come from two different worlds so you can understand where it went awry right away I like that this one touches on depression and being upset about being ripped away from your home and the dynamic that could cause in a person.

this story is fun I definitely enjoyed it it gave a wonderful nod to the original series in the best of ways I would highly recommend.

ps a cliffhanger are you kidding me I feel betrayed sure I had lready pre-ordered the other book the same day I pre-ordered this book and the one before it when they became available for order but that's not the point! 🥺💀😱🥰🥰🥰

I love the elegance of the misunderstandings

this was another book that's in a weird timeline, I thought reading order would have been chronological story order, but it does not seem to be so

just because she ends up "happy" at the end doesn't justify the drugging, kidnapping, holding her hostage, and lying to her constantly.

the cooties definitely picked wrong with this one.

I also didn't like how at the beginning she has depression and decides she needs to just fix her brain herself, isn't that something the cootie would heal since it's an imbalance of chemicals/neurotransmitters within the brain?
she also mentions that there aren't medications available and another human offers to talk as they wanted to be a therapist and took some intro psych courses (not great, but better than nada, least venting could help some) and yet she's like 'oh no I'm all alone with my depression' whilst she's on a planet half filled with slaves, forced SWers, gladiators, clones who are viewed as being less than all the other aliens, and they've all been kidnapped and dragged across the universe for unknown lengths of time, but she's doesn't think she'll be able to relate to anyone else? she also could have tried seeing the healer if the cootie wasn't doing enough on its own to fix her depression. it deffo coulda been acute depression that went away as she came to terms with everything and settled in, but I still do not like the way depression was portrayed as something to just "fix" yourself by thinking about it.

ending up "happy" at the end doesn't not justify drugging & kidnapping
