High taxes guarantee nothing

Canada is awesome. However, paying high taxes guarantees nothing. Canadians pay about 50% on average of their income to taxes. For most Canadians, taxes are higher than cost of housing and food combined. In the end, we are $1.6 trillion in government debt plus, our own personal debt on top of that. Add to that the everyday cost of living. This book was a bunch of Liberal Ideology put together to justify high taxes.

Nice little freebie

Fun little listen with thoughts about what it means to be Canadian. He has an authentic voice reading his own writing, so I went on to try How to Get Back Up and am enjoying that as well.

Great Canadiana

This brought a lot of smiles to my face as I listened. I was driving in my car along the Trans Canada, admiring the fall colours, & this well written & well narrated book was the perfect accompaniment to my drive. 🇨🇦🤗

Short & Sweet

While Canada has had it's dark moments in history, Neil does an excellent job of reminding Canadians how lucky we are. His story is not everyone's, but it is certainly a good one.

I’m ready to move

I thoroughly enjoyed this expose’! What the author shares I know to be true. Having been to Canada several times, I appreciate the culture, the norms, & the people. The only down side, & I know this from living in Minnesota, is the prolonged cold winter!

Enjoyable little listen

Sweet tribute by a native to the country he loves. I enjoyed learning a little bit more about my neighbors to the north. I’ve no doubt that Canada is awesome.

J'étais curieuse...

J'étais curieuse d'entendre ce livre "publicitaire" pour mon pays. C'était bien, mais pas extraordinaire! À conseiller à ceux qui ne connaissent pas du tout le pays.

A Story about Growing Up in the 70's and 80's

If you grew up in the 70's or 80's, and you'd like to reminisce about your childhood, this is an entertaining trip back in time. You'll relate even if you didn't grow up in Canada.

Cute and Quick

This book was a quick and fun book. Anyone who has ever been to Canada or lives in Canada will probably enjoy this a bit more.
Narrator was decent.

Books are new podcasts

Canada is awesome is lightweight, warm story of a deep love to the country. Author tells a story of his family, why Canada is called Canada, and a bit of food and landscape, people and mood.

Canada is always we, us. We come here running from something, or towards something. Always curious, always searching, always grateful for how lucky we are 🇨🇦❤️
