just plan bad

whiny female lead who has no backbone. a male lead who... even though he's the lead, I'm not sure why he was even in the book. I really hoped there would be some awesome sex to at least make this book worth the money but alas, I'm as disappointed in this book as I was with my high school boyfriend.

Pleasantly surprised

Would you listen to Captured again? Why?

No but only because I typically don't listen to books more than once, even if I really like them.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Captured?

Hard to say without spoilers, but it's a scene close to the end of the book. Very intense and romantic.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it sure was, it felt like watching a movie, super hooked and just wanting to know what happened next. It was hard to stop listening and get out of the car on several occasions.

Any additional comments?

There are only a few things I did not like about this book. Sometimes the internal monologue was a bit too dramatic for my taste, which also slowed the story. Then the descriptions, I could point out words the author seems to use a lot throughout the book, like 'realize' or 'realization', 'glare', and 'clenched fists' were definitely very prominent. Overall though, I think the story is amazing, full of the type of conflict and tension that keeps you hooked, and I liked the characters, could connect to them, and was intrigued by them, so to me, that made it worth the listen. Can't wait for the next one!

I liked this book but didn't love. It was an interesting stories with good characters but it was definitely too insta love. It also seemed like half a story. Maybe the first and second book in the series should have been combined...Also very YA. Definitely not the worst I've read by far though!

Pretty Weak.

The characters in this one are one dimensional, and their inner thoughts are vapid. I found it silly and lacking any sort of depth.

Our h has just been sold to a vampire in a blood slave auction. She's been living on the run in the forest with a small band of humans who are resisting the Vampire overlords. Her new owner is the gorgeous prince vampire. He has the cleaning ladies take her off to be bathed -- she's smelly and dirty from living in the woods. She is scrubbed down, has her nails painted, dressed in a skirt and blouse, strapped into high heels and sent back to the prince.

What era is this supposed to depict? Why does she need her toenails painted in order to provide a meal to her new owner? She's supposed to be terrified of what's going to happen, but all she can think about is how he makes her tingle and feel things, especially when she see's his bedroom.

Really? There is bad, and then there is this.

Yes I would recommend this to a friend because it was an awesome book. I loved the storyline, the characters, the narration.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked everything about this book! But I think I liked the storyline and the chemisty between Braith and Aria best. Although there are more vampire books out there than I can count, this story was not another regurgitated book. It was original and fantastic!

What about Luci Christian’s performance did you like?

I loved it all! I especially loved how she sort of used Braiths voice as the narration voice during his POV scenes and Aria's voice as the narration voice during her POV scenes. That probably makes no sense, but it will when you listen.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me fall in love with the characters and it left me wanting more!

I found this book completely by accident and I am so happy I did. It's such a good story and if you love paranormal book, especially vampire books, you will love this story!

AMAZING!

Would you consider the audio edition of Captured to be better than the print version?

I never read the print version, but I am in love with the audio edition.

What other book might you compare Captured to and why?

None. This story is beautifully written and very unique. No story of vampires could compare. I love the imagery of it all, I felt like I was there.

What about Luci Christian’s performance did you like?

One of the best narrators I've listened to.

Very good narration, she keeps my attention.

I first came across this book at the kindle store for free. I was immediately drawn to the characters and unusual plot line. I bought the whole kindle series and I can't wait to buy the audiobook versions.

Stockholm Syndrome-y

FMC has no agency until the very end and has a strange attraction to her perceived tormentor even before any real connection is made. It's pretty well written but I probably won't continue with the series.

Wasn’t sure at first but...

Began listening because I wanted a book to pass the time on a long drive. Actually thought several times about not finishing but the story drew me in. The narration is different, not really the type I listen too ( telling about the characters versus being one of them) but I listened and now that I’m done I’m looking for book 2.

Loved the book... but the narrator

I actually read a couple of the books from this series a few years ago and fell in love. I recently started to listen to audio books and noticed I could upgrade the books I already and decided to upgrade this series. I was truly disappointed because the narrator, though she tried, it was a total BUST in my opinion. I even listened to 'Renegade' to try and give her a second chance but nope, just as bad as the first. I'm so friggin' disappointed that these audio books don't have a better narrator. But the books are wonderful, I plan to read the rest though.
