This covers a lot of territory. It's a young adult fantasy on the lines of Harry Potter, only backwards, with a lot of Upstairs, Downstairs thrown in for complication.

more sophisticated writing and less formulaic writing that Harpers halfmoon hollow series. This story has some interesting world building and draws on Harper's skill with dialogue. Her characters even have more depth. I enjoyed it.

It can be a challenge to find a really good storyline for long days in the road for work. This book made my look forward to my long drive. Ready for the next in the series!

Well written, good story line, appropriate for kids and adults (like HP). Nice to have heroines who don’t need to be rescued by adults or boys. Nice listen - narrator has good accents. Will buy the sequel.

Picked this up on a whim and listened to it in a day on a whirlwind road trip. Kept me engaged and wanting more...now on to the next in the series.
