À propos de cet audio
Everyone has heard of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. But what about close encounters of the fatal kind? The field of UFOs is rife with unsettling examples of suspicious deaths. Accounts of accidents that might not have been accidents after all, abound. Researchers and witnesses have vanished, never to be seen again. Conveniently timed heart attacks are reported.
Out-of-the-blue suicides that, upon investigation, bear the distinct hallmarks of murder, are all too common. And grisly deaths at the hands of both extraterrestrials and government agents have occurred. Highlights of Close Encounters of the Fatal Kind include:
- The strange saga of the incredible melting man.
- The UFO-related death of the first US Secretary of Defense, James Forrestal.
- The mysterious disappearances of military pilots and their connection to UFOs.
Getting too close to the cosmic truth about alien abductions, Roswell, and what the government really knows about UFOs can - clearly - be a deadly business. The government's latest admission of the existence of Area 51 is barely the tip of a very big iceberg.
©2014 Nick Redfern (P)2017 TantorI very much appreciate his efforts, although I found his writing pedantic and his organization lacking (it ends up a disappointing combination of categorical and chronological). Redfern also eschews any attempt at providing insight - sticking to straightforward evidentiary facts. I didn't detect anything convincing in the catalog.
As to presentation: Reader Shaun Grindell reads the book professionally, but with a distinctive sing-song cadence better suited to a children's storybook than an encyclopedic work like this one. Tantor Audio Inc. should have cast the project differently.
Altogether, 'Close Encounters Of The Fatal Kind' is written like something of a desk reference for readers already captivated by the possibility of Alien visitors to our planet.. skeptics won't find anything persuasive here. This 6/10 star book is more of a compendium of specific events. I enjoyed the distraction for a couple of quiet afternoons for free, but wouldn't invest a Credit in it.
ATTN PRODUCERS: The text version of this book doubtless has an extensive Index. The recording would benefit immeasurably from - at the very least - a navigable menu. Chapter headings?
