Description

CORRAL DUST chronicles the extraordinary lives of the Edwards family in Southern Arizona's Cañon del Oro where legends of the lost Iron Door Mine still live in the shadows of the mighty Santa Catalina Mountains. The saga begins in 1907 when Hugh Edwards is wrongly convicted of embezzlement and sentenced to hard time on a chain gang but after a daring escape, he hides out in Arizona’s Canyon of Gold with the help of an enigmatic character known as Saint Jimmy. After he's exonerated, Hugh meets the hard riding Marta Hillgrove and the other colorful characters in the canyon. Hugh and Marta marry and build an adobe house where they raise four children.

The youngest and only son Bobby T Edwards becomes a stuntman in 1930’s westerns and takes a stand against the abuse of horses in filming which led directly to the ‘No Animals Were Harmed in the Making of This Motion Picture’ notice we see on movies today. Jane, the film’s leading lady stands with Bobby T and follows him back to Arizona where they have two sons. The youngest of the two, Bill Edwards, now in his late 70’s, still lives in the canyon to this day.

Spanning five generations of the Edwards family from Bill’s grandfather Hugh to his grandson Wyatt, a Nashville songwriter who’s had some wild adventures of his own, there are two things Bill Edwards’ tall tales have in common. A sense of place and the ultimate truth that what matters in life can’t be bought or sold.
