À propos de cet audio

Navy SEAL Maverick Hart has everything. Women want him. Grown men idolize him. The job, the glory - it's all his. Not because it's handed to him but because he works hard for it. The second his sights lock on something, he owns it - or destroys it. Windsor Forbes only takes calculated risks in her profession and in her personal life. After being left at the altar by the only person she's ever loved, the very last thing she's looking for is a relationship - especially the insane brand an arrogant Navy SEAL is offering. Hesitant yet trusting to a fault, she gives in. She knew she shouldn't take the chance, especially a second time, but love is irrational and their love is perfect, infallible - or so she thought. The downfall to having everything is that you have that much more to lose. A man like Maverick can't have it all without something slipping out of grasp.

Took me on an emotional rollercoaster. Loving, heart wrenching, loss, laughter and everything in between.

Great story line

I feel like the author didn't really research her subject matter. I mean if you're going to write a series about a bunch of SEALs, maaaaaaybe don't consistently use the term "bad guys" when the dudes are out on deployment in combat zones... there was literally zero contextually appropriate military jargon utilized, it left the writing feeling lackluster and juvenile. Also, the plot was a bit too angsty for me.

And one personal pet peeve... FMC demands honesty within the relationship, MMC agrees even though he knows he is lying by omission about something in his past that's pretty big but he doesn't know how to disclose the issue for fear of losing the FMC - fine, at least he owns it in his inner dialogue, and feels some guilt over not giving 100% of the honesty he promised. HOWEVER, my issue is that in multiple instances, the FMC also performs lies of omission because she isn't ready to discuss ______ or doesn't want to rock the boat by going into detail about _______ ... but that's all perfectly justified in her mind and NOT ONCE does FMC reflect that she herself is lying by omission by withholding details from the MMC when HE DIRECTLY BRINGS UP THESE ISSUES even though she is the one who requested nothing but complete honesty... Double standard much?

Decent-ish storyline but...
