Probably my favourite book of the series so far and chapter 23 was everything we could hoped for.

So good I’m rushing to the next book

Man this book was intense! It leaves you on a cliffhanger with your heart ripped out and little hope!

First with the teacher student love story that they know was destined to be revealed in time, it broke your heart!

But it was fun getting to see the lawyers that were hired were the 3 creepy brothers from the Dark Fae series that went to school with the “kings”.

Then in prison we hear about 2 other guys we knew in the dark fae series so that’s interesting.

The start crossed lovers story is so sweet I’m happy they are not giving up I believe the stars will give them a second chance!

Gab or professor Knox I knew who he was since the beginning of the dark fae series but still hearing his parents stories was heartwarming! I wish we could see more of him!

Diago their friend who’s always wearing the hat his grandma knit and we know had dark magic… well my suspicions about him since day one came true now too! I think he killed that one professor who was helping the twins the night the heirs almost drowned Roxy.

Now Roxy sacrificed herself to the darkness & the creepy green dragon king who we knew killed her family has put a bond on her so she craves being with him & pleasing him 😭🤢 man I really hope he doesn’t cross the line with her that scares me!

This was my favourite book of the zodiac academy books so far just because the bullying finally has stopped & they seem to be on the same team!

Book 5 and the emotional damage is officially chronic now.

This one opens with me screaming: "Nooooooo, WHY?!?" And then immediately clutching my chest from the emotional fallout. I understood her decision... logically. But knowing what we know? I was dying inside.

We're 5 books deep and I’ve got a minor name crisis. Can the twins please just pick a name and stick with it?? I love a dual-identity vibe, but it’s Tory/Roxy/Roxana and Darcy/Blue/Gwen/Gwendolyna chaos at this point. Except when Orion calls her Blue. That line—
🫠 "In Solaria blue means royal, and to me, blue means you."
Sir. STOP. I'm already simping too hard.

Orion is still #1 book boyfriend, but Darius is coming in HOT with the redemption arc and serious swoon energy. I’m not saying I’m falling for the dragon boy… but I am. 🔥

Caleb, you cheeky vampire. That (3) scene? 10/10. Also, what you did for the twins… I love you forever.

Geraldine continues to be a gift. Max is slowly winning me over (Geraldine’s influence?). Their moments had me grinning.

Meanwhile, Clara and Lionel... um, ew. I’m all for an age-gap romance, but not like this. He’s irredeemable, and she’s terrifying in a bad way. Zero appeal.

The bromance between the Heirs continues to be elite. Seeing them finally care deeply and rally around the pain of their bonds was EVERYTHING.
Also—Gabriel + the Vegas = my new comfort trio.

BUT THOSE DAMN STARS.
They’re the nosy aunts of the universe and I want them to go AWAY.

As for the cliffhanger—it’s still brutal, but not quite as soul-wrecking as book 4’s. That said, it’s keeping the tradition of "just one more chapter... whoops, finished the book" alive and well. And now I’m sprinting into Book 6 because peace is an illusion in this series. 💀

I’ve been listening the series, if I could have rated all the other books in the minus I would have. This one is actually decent.
