Smart & Funny

This has been a hit and miss series for me, but I enjoyed this story very much. Marie & Matt are very likable characters, both are smart and funny and their relationship is a slow burn. There are check ins with other characters from the previous books which is always a nice touch. I would have enjoyed a little more from Matt’s POV, but overall a decent read.

Dating-ish

Marie and Matt didn’t start off so great but they grew to be friends then lovers. It was an interesting story but one I couldn’t get enough of.

I like how they challenged each other and even if they had troubling conversations they were always honest with each other.

Great ending, loved the narration.

Stand alone but should read others first

Most stand alone books in series briefly involve or reference previous characters. This book spends 1/2 time on the old characters and there are a lot of them. I felt it detracted from the story because there were so many players who I didn't know and didn't have investment in. The dialogue was prolonged in this way. Wanted more time with the main characters. Should read the other books first

superb!

Marie & Matt's heartfelt story, the news from the rest of the gang, the slow growth & burn, the permanent smile on my face, the anticipation, the truth, the sweetness, the sexiness, the cleverness of this book, the choice of Joy Nash as a narrator... Thank you, Mrs. Reid <3

Cute story!

I liked the informational introduction before each chapter and how the story blends seamlessly with the others already listened to.

Tech + humour!

This book was just hilarious, the banter between the characters made it extremely entertaining! As a person working in tech, I also really enjoyed thinking about what it means to be human and the blurring lines between AI and 'humanness' through Maria, Matt and everyone else's eyes.

another good one

another good Knitting in the City book, definitely recommend the series. storyline has excellent flow, many laughs, and just the right amount of wretchedness in Matt's background to make you understand where he's coming from. Another winner in the series, but Fiona's is still my favorite. Really looking forward to reading Kats.
p. s. once again they added an male narrator for Matt's ( the male) POV, completely unnecessary but it was only mildly distracting.

I'm obsessed!

This is my first book from Penny Reid. And I'm hooked! Marie and Matt's relationship are so relatable and very realistic in today's world. I just love their personalities. I love their friends. I am so in love with all the characters that I MUST have more.

Each of Penny Reid's Knitting in the City books is better than the last. I loved Marie and Matt's chemistry and the slow Burn between them.

so much fun!

Penny's writing is funny and provocative. And Joy Nash could make the Dow Jones fun to hear! Listening was a true gift for my ears, mind and heart.
