This "Weird West" story follows an undead "Hand Of God" (one-time lawman/old-school old-west gunfighter-bounty hunter dispatched by the "White Throne" to confront Lucifer's forces wherever they may arise). In this episode, 'James Crowley' finds himself confronting Satan's forces in a town named 'Dead Acre' where a servant of God was killed. The plot is actually quite straightforward, but the entire premise is intriguingly original.

Reader Roger Clark definitely adds to the story, too. His "Old West" drawl is a little bit affected and somewhat stereotypical.. but suits the text perfectly. I quite enjoyed the pitch-perfect performance. If given the option between a text version of the novella or this recorded iteration, take this "above-average" interpretation every time.

Altogether, 'Dead Acre' is a short 8.5/10-star vignette displaying a brilliant concept. The free offering could easily prompt you to invest some Credits in the Rhett C. Bruno/Jaime Castle 'Black Badge' series. Download immediately.
