À propos de cet audio

Sometimes, enough is enough . . .

Debbie Mullen is losing it. For years, she has compiled all of her best advice into her column, Dear Debbie, where the wives of New England come for sympathy and neighborly advice. Through her work, Debbie has heard from countless women who are ignored, belittled, or even abused by their husbands. And Debbie does her best to guide them in the right direction. Or at least, she did.

These days, Debbie’s life seems to be spiraling out of control. She just lost her job. Something strange is happening with her teenage daughters. And her husband is keeping secrets, according to the tracking app she installed on his phone. Now, Debbie’s done being the bigger person.

She’s done being reasonable and practical. It’s time to take her own advice.

And now it’s time for payback against all the people in her life who deserve it the most.

From #1 New York Times and international bestselling author Freida McFadden comes a biting subversive thriller about what happens when women finally choose to take justice into their own hands—with killer results.

Dear Debbie, by Freida McFadden, immediately caught my attention because of its premise. The idea of a “Dear Abby”-style advice columnist at the center of the story intrigued me right away. Growing up, I used to love reading those advice columns in the newspaper when they were delivered to our door, so the concept felt both familiar and nostalgic.

What makes this story so compelling is Debbie herself. Her actions throughout the book are undeniably diabolical at times, yet I have to admit there were moments when I still found myself empathizing with some of her choices. That moral tension makes the character fascinating to follow—you may not always agree with her, but you can’t look away.

The plot feels fresh and unpredictable, with twists and revelations that keep the story moving quickly. I often told myself I would stop after one more chapter, but the suspense kept pulling me back in. Before I knew it, I was turning pages well into the night, simply needing to find out what would happen next.

If you enjoy psychological suspense with unusual storylines and complex characters, Dear Debbie is a gripping read that will keep you hooked from beginning to end

Fantastic storytelling from beginning to end. McFadden is the only one who comes close to rivaling Gillian Flynn in the feminist thriller genre.

3.5 pushed to four for the great twist at the end. Enjoyed the almost over the top / light hearted feel of the book despite what could have been very heavy topics. If it were tv, I kept thinking it would fit well into early 2000’s comedy-drama mystery….had kind of a desperate housewives feel to me.

What your dark side day dreams of doing lol
