I loved the Miss Lake Chronicles from the start, but I worried Book 4 — set in the last year of the war when victory was at hand — might feel anticlimactic. Instead, it was the most emotional of the series. Smart, heartfelt, and never cheesy, it delivers a beautiful, satisfying close to an exceptional story.
