À propos de cet audio

When a NASA satellite discovers an astonishingly rare object buried deep in the Arctic ice, the floundering space agency proclaims a much-needed victory, a victory with profound implications for NASA policy and the impending presidential election. To verify the authenticity of the find, the White House calls upon the skills of intelligence analyst Rachel Sexton. Accompanied by a team of experts, including the charismatic scholar Michael Tolland, Rachel travels to the Arctic and uncovers the unthinkable: evidence of scientific trickery, a bold deception that threatens to plunge the world into controversy. But before she can warn the President, Rachel and Michael are ambushed by a deadly team of assassins. Fleeing for their lives across a desolate and lethal landscape, their only hope for survival is to discover who is behind this masterful plot. The truth, they will learn, is the most shocking deception of all.©2001 Dan Brown (P)2004 Simon & Schuster Inc. AUDIOWORKS is an imprint of Simon & Schuster Audio Division, Simon & Schuster Inc. Ce que les critiques en disent

"Brown moves into new territory with his latest. It's an excellent thriller: a big yet believable story unfolding at breakneck pace, with convincing settings and just the right blend of likable and hateful characters. He's also done his research, folding in sophisticated scientific and military details that make his plot far more fulfilling than the norm." (Publishers Weekly)
"A dazzling high-tech adventure...Brown proves once again that he is among the most intelligent and dynamic of authors in the thriller genre." (Library Journal)
"This is pretty exciting stuff...and Brown certainly does have a knack for spinning a suspenseful yarn." (Booklist)

A good listen

I previously read the book about 10 years ago and really enjoyed it. The story is good and reminiscent of Michael Crichton. The vocal performance was good but I did have a little trouble with the portrayal of a female character. Their role is central to the story and i just struggled with the male voice. It was acted well, but i guess it wasn’t the voice I gave the character 10 years earlier.

Love Dan Brown

Very enjoyable story. My only issue was that it sounded like the narrator was drinking, swallowing loudly and burped once or twice. It seems to me that should have been edited out. But I will listen to this story many more times.

Even better voiced

#Audibe1

I read this book years ago and fell in love with it. Having it voiced just makes it that much better!

decent performance, plotline is.... ugh. spoilers.

this is quite possibly the worst Dan Brown novel out there. in the first two hours of this novel I'm fairly certain he used the phrase scientific discovery about 15 dozen times. We get that you're trying to delay giving us the plot decide, but find a new way of doing it. The writing style is close to Trump level.
While I enjoy the odd far fetched sci fi here and there and your near future type of stuff, and I do realize that this was written 15 years ago, the whole idea that NASA is the bane of all existence and that if you slash its budget in half it'll solve all the education problems in America.... Is beyond Trump absurd. Beyond Newt Gingrich wanting a base on the Moon by the year 2020. I understand this is fiction but I like believable fiction, I like it when the author doesn't treat the reader as a freaking idiot. Adding seven and a half billion dollars to the education budget by reducing the NASA budget by the same amount is going to solve all your problems? Good f****** luck. not once was the defense budget brought up and I believe that at the time that this was written that defense budget was 650 billion dollars. And it isn't audited at all. Not one goddamn mention of that bloated budget.
I get that the average voter isn't nearly as informed as we would like them to be, but the idea of using NASA as a scapegoat in this regard and that it's successful in getting the GOP nomination?
Clive cussler's novel regarding a hidden secret contract between the British and the United States where in Canada is actually the property of the United States is more believable than this bullshit.
as stated earlier, I get that this is fiction. But the National Enquirer is more realistic than this. Don't waste your credit on this and especially don't waste your money on this.

Over the top

Interesting and compelling to start and not really believable after that. Went a little too far for my taste.

Great voice, okay story

It is a good story, and the performance is very good although from time to time we could hear him swallowing his spit. After the first chapters, the story slows down and it take a while to become interesting. Having read Dan Brown's other books, this one fell short for me. There was a lot of cliches and the descriptions were a bit long and confusing.
Overall it's a good book, I just have higher standards for Dan Brown.

Entertaining…

I have always enjoyed Mr. Brown’s books. This one, however, had a merely okay ending. Don’t get me wrong. You will be entertained most of the time, despite the awkward narration. It was okay!
