Rosalyn Landor can narrate everything I listen to as far as I'm concerned. So far, the best fantasy narrator I have heard. Good story too. Already into the next book. Really super impressed with the narrator!!

Good story for those looking to expand from the Drizzt tales with outside characters getting the spotlight.

The story does meander and the characters are not always in interesting, but it does a good job of colouring more of what Menzoberranzan and the Drow in general are like.

I found the Drizzt series glossed over these events with no clear indicator of when to jump into this series. Even looking online there's debate on when to do it. I'm far enough ahead that this is a jump back, but I would recommend this before Quenthal takes power.

Narration was ok, but it can be an adjustment when being used to the Drizzt series. The variation in character voices could be improved though. unless you're really good with names, it's easy to get mixed up. The story doesn't lend itself to distinguishing between characters very well either.

Still, it's a good story for fans of the universe.

I started listening to audiobooks at work since I've got an office job and days can sometimes drag. I've heard a lot of different narrators in the process, and Rosalyn Landor might be the best one I've heard yet! The story is great on its own, but the variation in character voices really helps get you into it on top of that. I'm on my second listen through - after my first I went out and bought the entire set just to have the books on hand, although I 500% prefer the audiobook version.

This reader would be much better off reading things like "Peter rabbit" or children's books, definitely not this book full of combat, intrigue, and mystery.
I can't even pay attention to the actual story because it's mid combat and I'm falling asleep listening to this boring voice.

I love the underdark and this author, luckily I can buy the actual books and read them to still supprt. But unfortunately this audiobook is not worth buying, if the others are by the same reader I wouldn't recommend them either.

The narrator was not the right choice for this book at all. most of the characters come off way too priming proper sounding and the voice she would use for the males made them sound really dopey and stunned most of the time.
Also I found the storyline to be a little tedious and unnecessarily overly descriptive at times. There were times when I found myself having a hard time paying attention cause I felt like they were just prattling on about stuff.
