The dystopian future we've been warned of is here. Dave Rubin has been on the front lines of the culture wars for years. Now, he offers tactics you can use to protect yourself from today’s authoritarian rule—from resisting the grip of Big Tech to staying sane in a post-truth world. What’s more, he offers a vision for the next generation of patriots who will need to face the future head-on, holding fast to their values and creating a meaningful life no matter how frenzied and fabricated the news of the day is.

It has been proclaimed many times, but perhaps never more convincingly than now, when every news cycle seems to deliver further confirmation of a world gone mad. Is this the endgame? Author Spencer Klavan is a classicist, with a Ph.D. from Oxford, and a deep understanding of the West. His analysis: The situation is dire. But every crisis we face today, we have faced before. And we can surmount each one. Klavan brings to the West’s defense the insights of Plato, Aristotle, the Bible, and the Founding Fathers to show that in the wisdom of the past lies hope for the future.

According to the establishment media, the intelligentsia, and our political chattering class, the greatest threat to American freedom lies in right-wing authoritarianism. We’ve heard that some 75 million Americans who voted for Donald Trump represent the rise of American fascism; that conservatives have allowed authoritarianism to bloom in their midst, creating a grave danger for the republic.

By the end of on average day in the early 21st century, human beings searching the Internet will amass eight trillion gigabytes of data. This staggering amount of information - unprecedented in history - can tell us a great deal about who we are - the fears, desires, and behaviors that drive us, and the conscious and unconscious decisions we make. From the profound to the mundane, we can gain astonishing knowledge about the human psyche that less than 20 years ago seemed unfathomable.

Description
"Topical, engaging, personable, and above all, reassuring." (Dr. Jordan B. Peterson, author of 12 Rules for Life)
From host of The Rubin Report, the most-watched talk show about free speech and big ideas on YouTube right now, a road map for free thinking in an increasingly censored world.
The left is no longer liberal.
Once on the side of free speech and tolerance, progressives now ban speakers from college campuses, “cancel” people who aren’t up to date on the latest genders, and force religious people to violate their conscience. They have abandoned the battle of ideas and have begun fighting a battle of feelings. This uncomfortable truth has turned moderates and true liberals into the politically homeless class.
Dave Rubin launched his political talk show The Rubin Report in 2015 as a meeting ground for free thinkers who realize that partisan politics is a dead end. He hosts people he both agrees and disagrees with - including those who have been dismissed, deplatformed, and despised - taking on the most controversial issues of our day. As a result, he’s become a voice of reason in a time of madness.
Now, Rubin gives you the tools you need to think for yourself in an age when tribal outrage is the only available alternative. Based on his own story as well as his experiences from the front lines of the free speech wars, this book will empower you to make up your own mind about what you believe on any issue and teach you the fine art of:
- Checking your facts, not your privilege, when it comes to today’s most pervasive myths, from the wage gap and gun violence to climate change and hate crimes
- Standing up to the mob against today’s absurd PC culture, when differences of opinion can bring relationships, professional or personal, to a sudden end
- Defending classical liberal principles, because freedom is impossible without them
The Progressive Woke Machine is waging war against the last free thinkers in the world. Don’t Burn This Book is the definitive account of our current political upheaval and your guide to surviving it.

I wish...
...I could persuade my friends and family to read or listen to this book. Dave's narration makes it perfect. His humor AND facts combined with his personal stories show how so-called political correctness has lost its way. This book is a keeper.

Great book, worth the time
I listened to this in the car over several days and enjoyed every word. Although I'm not in his target audience, I really enjoyed his perspective and stories. It's refreshing to hear someone speak their mind freely and fearlessly, especially in this day and age.

Should be mandatory reading in highschool
This is a great guide on how to avoid getting trapped in ideology. Perfect for anyone who feels too confident about their points of view and hopefully works great for interventions.

Food for thought
I enjoyed the thought provoking scenarios Dave shares in this book. Being able to understand his journey from what he steadfastly believed in to how his viewpoint changed and why, is a great reminder that just because you believed one thing, doesn’t mean you can’t shift your beliefs. Freedom of speech and thought is paramount to a free and great society and Dave underlined that point very well. I also enjoyed the manner in which he tells his story. Great book!

Great performance.
Dave ruben is a great thinker and did a well rounded performance of his book. Enjoyable to listen to and with some interesting insights. Buy this for anyone in your life who is staunchly unmovable in their ideology maybe it will give them something to think about.

Brilliant book demonstrating how gullible Dave is
This book is a masterpiece, if you're looking for a book to convince your edgy high schooler to join the alt right. Its full of anecdotal arguments that are used to "prove" that the ENTIRE progressive movement is wrong. He then accuses the media of lying and cherry picking data, while he does the exact same thing. Only, he's not as good as it.
I'd give this book a B+, if it were written by a Grade 10 student in their Social Studies class.

It's not bad, but not brilliant.
The topic is timely and relevant, but in terms of literary quality, this book is just average. I suggest looking at the works of other authors such as Jonathan Haidt, Douglas Murray and Thomas Sowell.

Amazing audible performance. A perfect mix of politics, self-care and personal story. A great balance between serious critiques and light comedy.
I really loved Dave’s show and now hope he’ll write more books. Thankyou for all your great content and honest reporting. <3
