As if that's not bad enough, Nora believes she's cursed. All her life, people, especially men, have been drawn to her - some to the point of obsession and violence. Underworlders, it seems, are not immune to this curse, and now she's caught the attention of some of the most dangerous monsters in the city. Neck deep in an investigation only she can solve, Nora quickly makes as many new allies as she does enemies. Her biggest problem is staying alive long enough to decide which is which.

Love the charters and the story line. I am usually quite picky but I loved the writing and the non stop quality of this book. Quite entertaining.

I’m really enjoying the series so far our female protagonist has a horrible background story though, ⚠️ Trigger Warning ⚠️ there’s mention of her past sexual trauma being sexual abused by her foster father at 6 years old! And another assault in a park by multiple men at age 13!
Then a vampire sifts through her memories making her relive everything without her consent (another form of assault)

She believes she’s human yet she has a couple powers that she knows of (when she touches people she can read their minds, she can touch an object and get a vision & she gets a 6th sense when she’s in danger… oh and people easily get infatuated by her) so she doesn’t like to be touched and keeps to herself.

She ends up trying to help the underworld people find multiple missing underworld creatures.

A troll 🧌 ends up taking her in as family and it gives you all the good feelings 🥰

Shockingly good story. Different from your normal supernatural story. I really enjoyed this considering I didn’t want to listen to this. Will be purchasing the other books.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Captivating storyline with interesting characters. At first I found the narrator had a whiny voice for the MFC, but I got over that pretty quick, and was very impressed with the different voices to portray characters. There was a bit of redundancy, like yeah we get it, men become obsessive over you, no need to keep reiterating it. I also like some romance/ spice in my books, and this had non of that. Definitely a good YA book.

So very good. Lots of mature themes, including negative experiences (might trigger some people) when it comes to topics of intimacy. The characters are adorable and charming. Narrator sounds natural, making it very easy to get into the story and to empathize.
