cosy mystery that was short but not so sweet. I found Julia annoying. I haven’t read any of her previous mysteries but this one made the police look severely incompetent and it made no sense that she had to go undercover to catch the killer and then the entire scenario about the car, and then forgetting that her ward needs a key to her place, etc, it’s just scattered. It also made no sense why her and the officer would go undercover but neither of them would bring a cell phone so that they can call the police if needed or for back up if needed, or anyone else for help. I understand that the author may have scripted the story this way to create a greater sense of danger and more suspense but it further enhanced my impression of the detective being severely incompetent that he wouldn’t take over the undercover op. and infuse it with a little bit of his detective knowledge and know how.

I almost instantly knew who is the killer was in the story. It wasn’t very hard to figure out and then when they found out about the girl that died in the same area it was confirmed.
