Narrator thinks these are cartoon characters

I love most of everything Jaymin Eve does but I’ve put off reading these books because of the sample of the narration. I decided to just go for it maybe I’ll get used to it! But omg the narrator ruined The whole experience, enjoyment, attractiveness of the guys, and my overall view of the main character. It’s like she tried to make the MC sound “cute” but she sounded stupid not like her actions were stupid, but she sounds like a freaking baby. Not.cute.at.all!!! The guys sounds like cartoon characters which was not attractive at all. I could not imagine them being “hot as all sin” with the voices they had. Also with the voice given to the MC and the way she made her inside character sound...the whole “food obsession” was just disgusting to me! I was so severely annoyed everytime she talked about food. Again it just wasn’t cute or enduring like it should have been, like it was written to be. It’s a shame! Vanessa Moyen would have killed this narration and made the book what it should have been. I’m reluctantly listening to the next book...but barely...I’m searching audible for other books while painfully listening

teenager book worse with language then adult

I did not read if there was warnings on this book. it was listed for teens so I got it for me and my girls. the F word is all through the book. should be listed for adults. story is good. Just wish there was no swearing.

This is still one of my favorite series! I've reread this at least 5 times. Love the world and the characters. Jessa is my favorite shifter ever!!!

To clear some things up...

Y’all, someone actually said the narrator was monotone and the MC (main character) was obsessed with food which made her not like the book. I am obsessed with not only food, but everythinggggg Jaymin writes and I can say, DO NOT LISTEN TO THAT REVIEW! Get this book, NOW, and you will not regret it! I fell in love and I cannot wait for the next one!! 😍❤️

Loved this book! Narrator took a little to get used to, very monotone in a lot of parts, but the story kept me involved!

It was ok

The story is good but there is no romance what do ever to keep you engaged. I was waiting for at least some romance and it never came and the voice was not sexy. Jess is somewhat weak drives me insane. Where is that strong hero????

great story long build up.

This was a very good book. It was very detailed, and descriptive. There is absolute character development in more than one character.
As stated in the heading, it has a long build up. At first was frustrated with this, but pushed through and I'm glad I did. The build up is necessary to truly understand the depth to the characters, the world in these pages and the story line over all. pieces to the plot connect in ways that are not predictable, and right at the perfect time.
The main character is a strong female, almost to strong. At least that's what I thought in the beginning. It appeared as if she had no vulnerability, not even in her thoughts. This was frustrating, but If you stick through this, you will see she has character growth and starts learning to be vulnerable and understanding almost subconsciously the need for this vulnerability. It was well balanced.
Definitely a good read. I'm going to be purchasing the second book in the series in the morning after I finally go to bed after listening to this whole book in one day, because I just couldn't stop. I had to know, I had to finish it.
This would be a great series for someone to turn into a television series.

Narration needs improved

The story wasn’t bad. Jessa’s inner monologue was way over the top. The narrator almost sounded bored reading, no emotion. This did nothing to improve the story. This was a cliffhanger but doubt I’ll get the next.

Narrator ruined the series

I loved the actual book series when I read it and finally started them on audible. Its hard to finish when the narrator makes all the characters sound like they're in kindergarten and it's really disturbing listening a 24 year old male character talk about sex when they sound 5. I won't continue the series on audible or the book and will just enjoy reading them.
