Katharine Lee McEwan really has a great voice for the Grace Draven's female protagonists and narrative perspective. I really enjoyed the book, though it is a slower pace than Phoenix Unbound, and a bit predictable - as soon as you meet the characters, you can pretty much guess how most of the book will end, but there are some pleasing bits that I won't spoil.

Also, there were some short cameos of the characters from Phoenix Unbound, especially at the beginning, and it's nice to see how our heroes (and surviving villains) from the first instalment of the series turn out!
