À propos de cet audio

Jakkin, a 15-year-old bond boy, works with many others in Sarkkhan's worm farm/nursery on the desert planet Austar IV. Jakkin plans to steal a baby dragon from the farm to raise, hoping to train the dragon to fight and earn him enough money to buy himself out of bond, as well as the dragon's freedom.

Eventually, with the help of Akki, a girl at the nursery, he succeeds and names his dragon Heart's Blood. After a year of training and growing, Akki arranges a way for Jakkin and his beautiful red dragon to engage in their first battle.

Jakkin is a boy growing up in what appears to be indentured servitude on an alien desert planet. He forms a plan to attempt raising a newly hatched dragon in secret to compete in nearby fighting pits and win enough money to buy his freedom.
It's basically all about growing up and finding your way in the world. The story is pretty simple but done well. The intended audience is kids/young adults and you can tell. If you're thinking about giving it to a younger person in your life, the content doesn't seem worth being concerned about. There is a little violence in the depictions of the dragon fighting pits, but it's pretty low level and doesn't seem like it would be any kind of negative influence. Servitude is depicted, but not in any kind of aspirational way. There is positive content to do with taking responsibility for oneself, and supporting others. It seems like it would still be a rewarding read for younger people these days.
Checking it out for nostalgia sake as an adult there are still things to like.
The narrator seemed to struggle a little with female voices but was otherwise good.
