À propos de cet audio

Where did mankind really come from? Why are we here? We can't understand the past until we embrace the future. These critical mysteries take center stage as Earth emerges into a galactic society that is far more perilous than anyone could have imagined. Our history is far more complicated than we could have known. Can a few brilliant minds find a way out for Earth?

One saving grace is that there are those who believe ancient clues foretell that Earth has a destiny, and if we can survive our present difficulties, we might just find out what that destiny is....

Dr. Mark Spencer was a young, up-and-coming history and anthropology professor who was all too familiar with what happens to less advanced civilizations when suddenly exposed to others of considerably higher technology. There's only one survivor, and the culture witnessing magic isn't it. When modern-day Earth suddenly finds itself on the losing end of that proposition, a team of the world's best scientists is put together to find a solution. Of course the advanced society being friendly, Earth's citizens uniting, and the world's politicians working together for the common good would help tremendously, but...what if none of that were true?

In all not a bad book. Good premise and interesting characters. About the halfway point I get the feeling that the book is not fully thought out.
Probably the most important dynamic is lacking, the emotional investment in at least the main characters is non existent.
The narrator doe’s a good job but still middle of the road.

Strong start but lacks follow through

Highly imaginative sci-fi that is well thought out. Performances That are a little stilted and maybe too masculine. It would also been interesting to have a woman narrator. The thinking is radical and intriguing. Like all good science-fiction Wilson creates a world highlighting our present struggles towards equity and freedom.

First contact cubed: innovative and intriguing

ok

here's the deal

I like political intrigue, culture, futurism, that kinda stuff. as a story it was ok, this was listenable, but lacked depth.

my main example... ship AI introduced in once sentence, female, never heard from again... I don't get it

oh that's right
.. everybody has an AI.

narration hear me out... get it!

I am not a fan of Kafer, I took a chance and my opinion of his narration has only gotten worse

if you ever want to listen to Charlie sheen talk for 18 hours and then in a crappy female pre-op trans voice or.... or even crappier Italian accent....this is the book for you!

kafer turned what could have been an ok book into a STRUGGLE

I had zero idea who was taking

ZERO

if I had paid for this I would have dumped it early and gotten my credit back. lucky it was free, so it only cost me 18hrs of listening to Charlie Sheen

FML this was a painful listen

Charlie Sheen narrating??

If you take anything from this story is human males are sex gods. And even when human society is about to be obliterated there’s always time for a roll in the hay because the aliens in charge are slutty females. And they love AC/DC and rock and roll. Pretty much all humans are only good for music and sex. Not a bad story just wish there was more action though there was much “action”.

Aliens and sex and sex with aliens

The overall premise of the story is sound but told through the eyes of a horny army major, it has lost potential. Also, the reader did everything in the same tone which made it hard to know who was speaking. Don't waste ypur time on this one, there are far better books around.

Great poyemtial unfulfilled
