the voice work is much better than the writing will allow to work, in terms of writing it is very basic and repetitive repeating details and at other times not offering any for what brings them to understand, MC sees one person cast a spell and knows exactly what it will do never explained then later the MC has no idea what a spell will do and goes into detail to find out what it will do, it comes off like they cant figure out what their MC can do and the tone just falls flat as a MC who really just got lucky for little effort and we get lots of "harder" "faster" descriptions which dont sell a story trying to give an exotic experience and then does not add to a lackluster story with no identity to intrest me to buy the next book.
