This is a great book! Tons of interesting information on history, arts and culture in relation to thinking about the end of the world. I knew I was interested in the topic beforehand, but when the author starts talking about all the different ways it has been addressed in the arts and I have seen or read (and loved) a lot of them it really brought it into perspective. As he argues, for some reason there are a lot of people like me that are fascinated with the topic of the end of the world. Even though there is a 100% chance our individual worlds will end we are inherently concerned with the world / humanity going on after us. He also brings up a lot of good points about the 'zombie apocalypse' and how some of it is really just a theoretical excuse for people to think about living in a world with no laws where they could do whatever they please, including being morally justified to kill these 'non-humans'. Overall very thought-provoking and something I would definitely recommend!
