À propos de cet audio

In a remote corner of early Victorian England, where traditional practices remain untouched by time, Bathsheba Everdene stands out as a beacon of female independence and self-reliance. However, when confronted with three suitors, among them the dashing Sergeant Troy, she shows a reckless capriciousness that threatens the stability of the whole community. Published in 1874, and an immediate best seller, Far From the Madding Crowd established Thomas Hardy as one of Britain's foremost novelists.

The narrator for the audible version is excellent and uses many different voices to differentiate the characters, and add depth to the story. So it is not a straight reading, but more of a dramatization. This book has been one of my favourite classics to read for many years, and the audible version has added another way of enjoying Hardy’s work.

Great rendition of a classic tale

Couldn’t understand his accents when he read dialogue. And the way he read women’s dialogue was especially irritating. I’ve read the book in the past and loved it. Had to give up on the audible on chapter 7. The narration just became too annoying.

Reader drove me nuts
