Nothing else to say. The next book better be better than this first one cause they throw a lot of shit at you in the last 2 hrs of listening. Everything before was fucking stupid. Everything whining piece of the FMC just pissed me off.

I think the writer started out with an idea and then it sky rocketed into something else. the book was not the best the characters were way to young to be doing what they were doing and killing at 8 years? that's hard to believe.
I wanna finish the series because I have a feeling that she did the wrong thing by turning him in, but she is to weak and keeps pissing me off, they all are.
Maybe if they were in college or just starting to work some of these things would be believable.
And some of the things the MMC did to the female was clearly r**e but the way it's written it's like she didn't know that it was. Even when Dash left Willow crying in the library, clearly she didn't want if but yet he forced himself on her and kept doing it through out the book.

Reads like it was written partly by AI or something. There’s so many parts that make no sense, and reactions that characters have that no actual person would have. Cringey, won’t be continuing the series.

There are a couple minor inconsistencies in the story writing. Starts out Hot and steamy but thats the hook to draw you into the back story. Which draws out into a lot of screwing around to finally build into a climax and devastating cliffhanger for the next book. Still better than the Twilight Saga and I was a Twihard in my teens.

The performance of this book was great! The spicy scenes were great! However… the story is unbelievable, messy and disconnected. The author has great potential but missed the mark by not being able to pick a direction. Also the age time line was unbelievable. I hope that the fmc would grow a set of balls and the mmc would have more moral growth. I still couldn’t stop listening because the author sure knows how to write chemistry - maybe a little too much of it. I am going to try the next one to see if I can make sense of the point of these.

There doesn’t seem to be much logic put into this plot. It just gets more and more chaotic and unbelievable with every sentence. The “bullying” is so unoriginal and repetitive it became null and void. It was overkill and the more “complex” the plot tried to get the more dull it became. The overall structure and timeline are also extremely difficult to follow, it doesn’t clearly differentiate from past to present and I can’t decide if it’s because of the delivery by the narrator or the prose by the author, but the flashbacks came across forced and unnatural. This is the first time I’ve ever truly felt spoon fed as a reader when it comes to foreshadowing and I did not enjoy it lol. Don’t even get me started on the robotic and quite honestly, pointless dialogue, I’m having nightmares. After all the hype about this series on booktok I was let down so far. I saw book two is in duet or dual narration with one of my favourite male narrators, so I’ll give that a try because the basis of the plot is one that is very common in dark romance and I’m still intrigued.

This is so unbelievable, I know it’s fiction, this is beyond sad. This story makes a female look completely stupid and without any strength or her own thoughts.
Couldn’t get past the fourth chapter.

Red flags dressed up as sexy? The MMC is controlling, domineering, consent is questionable. He takes her phone, isolates her from friends and family, has her under constant surveillance, controls where she goes, kinda kidnaps her, and he’s physical aggressive. DNF as it triggered the hell outta me.

What the hell did I just listen to?! FMC worked my last damn nerve! She had no backbone, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say lake had stockholm syndrome. Because how do you explain her need to be with and constantly sleep with someone who tormented her, tried to cut her off from the only friend she has, took her phone, had her watched and forced her to stay at his house? This story is so unbelievable, who knows any high school kids that behaved the way those three boys did? I'm hoping the second book is better than this one, I found it cringy AF!
