À propos de cet audio

Baby Boy Fisher was raised in institutions from the moment of his birth in prison to a single mother. He ultimately came to live with a foster family, where he endured near-constant verbal and physical abuse. In his midteens he escaped and enlisted in the navy, where he became a man of the world, raised by the family he created for himself.

Finding Fish shows how, out of this unlikely mix of deprivation and hope, an artist was born - first as the child who painted the feelings his words dared not speak, then as a poet and storyteller who would eventually become one of Hollywood's most sought-after screenwriters.

A tumultuous and ultimately gratifying tale of self-discovery written in Fisher's gritty yet melodic literary voice, Finding Fish is an unforgettable listening experience.

I am only part way through this and I love the tale. Thomas Penny is no doubt the ONLY narrator that could do this story the way it is meant to be heard. I very much relate to the first part of Antwone's tale with having been in the foster system in Alberta, Canada. Mr. Penny brings the tale to life, as I listen on my commute to and from work each day. His voices for the people throughout are wonderful and he hits them all so well that it doesn't take away from the story or cause distraction at all. I highly recommend. If you are as picky as I am about narrators, you won't need to be here. If the story has any relatable events for you, you will find words and expressions to your own long lost feelings.

Great Story and Fantastic Narrator

So unfortunate that the children in this foster home had to suffer like this. This is a deep, heartfelt story of resilience and hope for a better life. Antwone’s choices set his trajectory in life. The narration of this book is excellent!

Raw truth

Too much language and was so offensive that I wasn’t getting anything from the book.
