For seventy years, Queen Elizabeth ruled over an institution and a family. She was constant in her desire to provide a steady presence and to be a trustworthy steward of the British people and the Commonwealth. In the face of her uncle’s abdication, in the uncertainty of the Blitz, and in the tentative exposure of her family and private life to the public via the press, Elizabeth became synonymous with the crown. In The New Royals, journalist Katie Nicholl provides a nuanced look at Elizabeth’s remarkable and unrivalled reign.

Meghan was 11 when she first advocated for women’s rights; a teenager when she worked in a soup kitchen feeding the homeless; a popular actress when she campaigned for clean water in Africa and passionately championed gender equality in a speech to a United Nations Women’s Conference. Even before she met Prince Harry, hers was an extraordinarily accomplished life. Meghan’s wedding to Harry was a joyful occasion, marking happiness at last for the Queen’s grandson who had captured our hearts 20 years earlier when he bravely walked behind his mother Diana’s coffin.

Behind the curtain of her happy on-screen persona, Valerie Bertinelli’s life has been no easy ride, especially when it comes to her own self-image and self-worth. She waged a war against herself for years, learning to equate her value to her appearance as a child star on One Day at a Time and punishing herself in order to fit into the unachievable Hollywood mold. As a member of Scotland Yard's elite Royalty Protection Department, Inspector Ken Wharfe was personal protection officer - in other words, bodyguard - to the late Diana, Princess of Wales, during the years that saw the final breakdown of her marriage and her separation from Prince Charles. In that time he became a close friend and trusted confidant who shared her most private moments. His intimate firsthand account provides an affectionate, if not always uncritical, insight into this complex, troubled, but ultimately deeply fascinating woman.

Description
The first, epic and true story of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s life together, finally revealing why they chose to pursue a more independent path and the reasons behind their unprecedented decision to step away from their royal lives, from two top royal reporters who have been behind the scenes since the couple first met.
When news of the budding romance between a beloved English prince and an American actress broke, it captured the world’s attention and sparked an international media frenzy. But while the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have continued to make headlines—from their engagement, wedding, and birth of their son Archie to their unprecedented decision to step back from their royal lives—few know the true story of Harry and Meghan.
For the very first time, Finding Freedom goes beyond the headlines to reveal unknown details of Harry and Meghan’s life together, dispelling the many rumors and misconceptions that plague the couple on both sides of the pond. As members of the select group of reporters that cover the British Royal Family and their engagements, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand have witnessed the young couple’s lives as few outsiders can.
With unique access and written with the participation of those closest to the couple, Finding Freedom is an honest, up-close, and disarming portrait of a confident, influential, and forward-thinking couple who are unafraid to break with tradition, determined to create a new path away from the spotlight, and dedicated to building a humanitarian legacy that will make a profound difference in the world.

Changed my perception of Meghan for the worst
I first want to say this book was easy to get through and the naration was good.
Prior to reading this book, I was very pro Meghan and Harry. However after reading this book, unfortunately it has changed my mind about Meghan for the worst. The book reads as if she was always this sweet and innocent do-gooder who never did a single bad thing in her life and all the drama surrounding her was in no way her fault. Basically she was a bystander and all these horrible things just happened around her while she was doing only noble things in life. She had no explanation why or how drama started because she did nothing wrong. It was always someone else's vendetta against her. Meghan is so perfect that everyone on the planet who met her was forever impressed and in awe. The book goes on and on about her virtues and how blameless she is.
Did you ever have that one teenage friend in highschool who acted like she was so "innocent" and didn't know why "drama always followed her" But in reality you knew that she was the instigator of all the drama but then she pretended like it was never her fault?
That is how this book made me feel about meghan. I do feel as though she had a part in writing this book becuase it is not very objective and it seemed to be the perspective of one person. She was the only person in the book who had zero flaws. Everyone else was low key shaded at some point (even Harry). Either Meghan played a strong role in this book or Omid is so obsessed with her that in his eyes she is perfect.
The other thing in this book that was quite nauseating was the constant name dropping. Endless name dropping that came across like the author (or meghan) was trying so hard to seem like Meghan was always part of the "cool kids".
If this book was meant to humanize Meghan, it did the opposite for me. It made me think that she is gravely lacking in self awareness and also values the vapid qualities of celebrity. I felt like the person described in the book did not showcase the life and values of a woman but rather described how an immature teenage girl desperately wants to portray herself - Perfect, popular.
Now I have my doubts about whether I actually want to continue to support meghan's charities and causes. It left me with a terrible impression of her.

Same old stuff
I found this book to be very boring. The whole thing was basically same news heard and read the news media for several years so there was no real revelation and I don’t get the finding freedom part I think they’re a very immature couple that just didn’t want to have to do boring tasks that the royal family sometimes has to do. I think Megan has stars in her eyes and Harry yes seems to follow along whatever she wants. So sad he had to give up the military stuff. I expected a lot more in this book but it really wasn’t worth my time

Worst one sided book ever
This book was so ridiculously one sided. It’s totally unbelievable. It’s like Harry and Megan wrote it themselves with no accountability for anything they may have done. I can’t even believe it was published. I had to skip parts because I could t even listen to the insanity of how great Megan is In every aspect of her life with not one fault, and I never even minded her, I am sure the Royal family is hard to be a part of. But come on!!!!! Horrible

The guy who narrated this story and made it worse. He is a lazy reader and made it feel less magical and animated as should be, no soul to it. You will doze off back and forth if you read this book. Looked like he was laying on a bed as he narrated the book. Boring!
