I wasn't sure I could keep going with this book, it was odd and I didn't think it was very well written. BUT it was worth sticking it out until the end.

This is an excellent piece. I found out later that the printed text has clues and information the audio does not, but I was not disappointed just intrigued when I found out. I enjoyed the story and the reading of the story. I will look for more Reid in the future. I found that the plot was a bit predictable (which is why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 for story), but that could just be because this is a genre I love.

it's a charming little slap in the face. it was like a black mirror episode. at times, cute, endearing. others, alarming, brutal. made me think of the quote, I'll paraphrase, "marry someone who loves you more."

what is love, friendship, commitment?

I found this very slow. I listened to it mostly while driving, and found myself wishing I would arrive so I could turn it off. I would have quit it, but I’d promised a friend I’d read it.
The first turn off was the reader’s voice. I think the next time I encounter him, I’ll start with a print version, then see if I feel the same turn off to the recorded version.

Not my kind of story

The story was bad enough but the constant redundancies were just irritating! Perhaps cutting out the redundancies and getting to the twist a lot sooner would have avoided me developing a thorough hate for the wooden characters and general disdain for the plot. The last 30 minutes of oh-I-get-it-now do not make up for the first 5 hours of this-is-so-improbable-people-don't-act-like-that!
