This book is so well written. The author’s ability to deconstruct her own experience, in a truly thought provoking way, while still holding onto the humanity of others involved is masterful. It has changed how I will view the world, and what the gift of kindness can mean.

I have not been through anything similar to Amanda Knox, and yet I feel incredibly seen as someone who has been shamed within my community for a blatant lie, many rumours, and all of it used as entertainment for others. Amanda is a beautiful writer, and you can feel how thoughtfully every sentence in this book was written. This has become my favourite feminist book. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I heard Amanda speak on a podcast and thought it was a very interesting and thought provoking discussion. After buying the book I was not disappointed.

Amanda is not only incredibly mature and articulate regarding her experience, listening to her narrate is incredibly powerful. Amazing. A must listen.

Amanda’s first memoir was very good, however this second memoir was absolutely outstanding. Bravo -and thanks for sharing your full story. Rarely have I encountered someone who has exhibited such bravery and resilience in the face of adversity. I did expect to learn a lot, but I did not expect to find myself rewinding to capture quotes, one in particular that has really helped me. I also didn’t expect to be so moved.
One exceptional aspect of this audiobook was how Amanda incorporated Italian into the narration: every time she relayed what she said or spoke in Italian, she spoke the first words in her fluent Italian, then this would fade into the background as she spoke in English. She did the same when recounting anything originally spoken or written in Italian. It was a little lie listening to someone live translating an interview, but so much better. Because Amanda’s Italian is so fluent (and fast!), and both languages were spoken by her, it flowed beautifully and transported me to her world. Truly exceptional.
