Description

Allen Carr’s Get Out of Debt Now applies Allen Carr’s Easyway method to the problem of debt and the addiction to spending. It starts by addressing the various psychological attitudes to money and spending that lead to debt. By unravelling the brainwashing instilled by the banking and credit industries, it adjusts our mindset to show what really gives us pleasure in life. It also helps us see the futility in spending money we don’t have on things that don’t make us happy.

The message throughout is that it is easy to get out of debt if you follow the instructions. Having dealt with the mindset, it moves on to practical methods for removing the problem, measuring your spending and income, making a plan to balance the books, reducing your spending, paying off your debts and increasing your income.

Allen Carr was a chain-smoker for over 30 years. In 1983, after countless failed attempts to quit, he went from 100 cigarettes a day to zero without suffering withdrawal pangs, without using willpower, and without putting on weight. He realised that he had discovered what the world had been waiting for - the Easy Way to Stop Smoking, and embarked on a mission to help cure the world’s smokers. As a result of the phenomenal success of his method, he gained an international reputation as the world’s leading expert on stopping smoking and his network of clinics now spans the globe. Allen Carr’s Easyway method has been applied to a host of issues including alcohol, weight control, children smoking, fear of flying - and now money!

Not worth the time.

Does not at all go into depth about how to deal/cope with debt monetarily, only mentally. Not worth the read.

Thank God for Allen Carr

The book was tough to get through only because of my own weird fears and self-sabotage. But I made it through to the end and then listened again once my fears were asuaged. This book is a miracle and it has absolutely changed my mindset; helped me take a handle over my out-of-control spending and debt issues. I cannot recommend this book enough. If you find yourself struggling to listen to it because you are uncertain or afraid just keep going, I promise the outcome is wonderful.

Inspiring Audio book

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to "Get Out of Debt Now". I found it to be practical and easy to follow. I've already begun using the instructions for getting out of debt and I feel more positive about getting out of debt. I never realized how straight forward getting out of debt could be. I would strongly recommend this audio book to anyone feeling overwhelmed and hopeless because of their debt. Kudos to the author!

In Pounds rather than Dollars

This book has great information but it's confusing to listen to money referred to on pounds versus dollars.

Amazing Author who has helped millions..!

Any additional comments?

I am not a gambler, but I read now read four books by Allen Carr: On smoking, alcohol, gambling, and debt...because I was so impressed with his unique approach to addictions.

I recently checked out his website. He company offers seminars and online classes around the world. I have a loved one who is a CHAIN SMOKER. He is also OVERWEIGHT...after being a skinny guy for much of his life.

I also have another family member who had a darling figure until she got married and had three children. I am interested in helping both of them.

BTW, on his website and on YouTube are video TESTIMONIALS from celebrities such as: Anthody Hopkins, Aston Kutcher, Ellen Degernes, and Richard Branson. Check them out.

Awesome information

I really liked this book, even though I’m not at the end of my rope. Retirement is coming soon and I have some habits that need to be changed. Information is valuable!

This is the book you've been waiting for!

great book! like with any illness or addiction or circumstance beyond our control, Alan Carr explains how first and foremost we need to accept our circumstances. it's been said many times in many places but this one is good for getting a handle on your financial circumstances and approaching it with an open mind. once you are ready to turn a crisis into an opportunity , you are ready to begin the next chapter in your own life

Not for everyone.

This is not for everyone. The premise makes sense treating spending as an addiction. Which lines up with the notion of the middle class mentality. Getting money and feeling that we deserve a reward. That if you don't reward yourself even when you cant afford to do so, that you feel cheated. So for those people whom buy to feel better this is your book. If you want a book about breaking other bad habits like not saving for job lose or strategies to start building wealth this is not for you.

Meh....

Nothing new here in regards to personal finance, especially in terms of actually getting out of debt. Seems like the author is milking the cow of "Easy Way".

Changed The Way I See Debt

Carr is a master at building changing our associations towards new and old behaviors.

I now have a clear budget and plan for paying off my debt. I am enjoying not spending money and finding ways to save.

A must read for everyone. It will help you get your feeling-state right around finances.

Awsomness as usual

Once again Allen Carr does an amazing job of a dressing the main root behind us getting caught in debt and the weakening beliefs we carry to be in such a vicious circle yet how to overcome it without feeling depriver yet feeling true freedom and leading better lives. Back than he made me quit suffocating my chest with smoking, over eating and now junk spending. I am grateful truly; God bless his soul..
