Anthony Wolf provides plenty of practical and reasonable advice. He makes it very understandable through the use of real life examples in the form of dialogues between parents and children.

Wolf is not idealistic, but adopts a realistic approach to parenting. Children will misbehave, adults will get angry, etc. He does not condemn what will naturally happen, but he does discuss ways on which these conflicts can be improved.

I am so tired of offensive language. I don't think Wolf likes teenagers. I know teens use offensive language but I think if you respect them and love them they are wonderful. I heard great reviews about this title.

I found this book to be very useful with both my teenage son and teenage daughter. Wish I had it when my oldest was a teen! Very good tactics and information contained in this book. You won’t be disappointed!

Yes, there is a lot of this book that is useful. I am about halfway through and find quite a few instances that are similar to my children. There is nothing new, however, it is reassuring that we are not the only parents with these issues.

It is often outdated. I found it on iTunes published in 2011 and the earliest paper date I found was 1992. It was pretty much confirmed for me when the author asked "what would Bill Cosby do?". I almost fell off my lawnmower. Also, there is the lack of cellphones and drugs are new, and sex is bad.

So far I have found it to be a reassuring book, that my kids are not crazy and I am not the horrible creature i have been called. I would recommend this book (i bought it as a daily deal, so.....) but you will need to adjust some of the information 25+ years in the future.

This book was an easy listen! Very well narrated and entertaining as well as very practical. Entertaining little snippets of real conversations between teens and parents, made it so very real and hilarious at some points! Practical because the author gives parents very practical handles for the most common problems that parents of teens encounter. I would recommend this book to all parents of teens from the age of 12 to 18.

I appreciated this book in the regard that it made me feel less like I’m alone in the depths of raising two teens, each difficult in their own right. I found the examples of conversations between parents and teens quite dated. I would never hit my children, nor would I speak to them the as examples in the book portrayed. I realize they’re examples, but many made me cringe.
I did, overall find it quite useful to understand the phases and not feel like their current behaviour is so dire. Also having some suggested tools in how to deal with common teen issues is great. I do suggest this book as a general teen guidebook. It came recommended by my children’s doctor.

I wish I could easily deal with that kind of disagreements; clearly doesn't fit or match what parents facing divorce with teenagers need.

Struggled to finish and then decided not to when reading that physical punishment in kids is "still up for debate" as per the author. This type of comment, especially from a psychologist is revolting. I do not trust his advice.
