À propos de cet audio
The chilling first novel by filmmaker, composer, and graphic novelist Leopoldo Gout, performed by actor Pedro Pascal (Narcos; Game of Thrones)
“Ghost Radio reminded me of early Stephen King. The story sticks with you long after you’ve finished the final page.” (James Patterson)
From the cramped bowels of a dimly lit radio station, Ghost Radio is beamed onto the airwaves. More than a call-in show to tell scary stories about vampires and poltergeists, Ghost Radio is a sanctuary for those sleepless denizens of the night, lost halfway between this world and the next.
Joaquin, the hip, melancholy host, sits deep in a fog of cigarette smoke, fielding calls from believers and detractors alike. He is joined in the booth by his darkly beautiful girlfriend, Alondra, and his engineer, Watts. Soon what began as an underground cult sensation is primed to break out to mainstream audiences. When a huge radio conglomerate offers to syndicate the show and Ghost Radio becomes a national hit with an expanding legion of hardcore fans, neither Joaquin, Alondra, nor Watts is remotely prepared for what is about to happen.
When Joaquin notices a curious and troubling phenomenon, he is inexplicably drawn further and further into the terrifying stories he solicits on the radio. As he slowly loses control over his reality and finds himself unable to distinguish between the real world and the world populated by the nightmares on Ghost Radio, he’s forced to confront his past and his own mortality in order to repair the crumbling wall between the living and the dead.

I was really intrigued at first, but it was slow moving, confusing (especially with audiobook), and none of the characters are a bit likeable, so I did not really enjoy it.
I just want it to be over, and it seemed like a mind f*ck, so if you like stuff like that, then you might want to try this book.
I love the audiobook narration

From the outset, it seems like the narrative is poised to delve into the supernatural, promising an engaging and mysterious storyline. However, as the story unfolds, it becomes apparent that the plot lacks substance and fails to provide a clear direction for the reader to follow. The narrative feels disjointed, leaving one struggling to connect the dots between seemingly unrelated events.
The book's saving grace lies in its narration, which is well-executed and manages to maintain a level of engagement despite the faltering plot. Even the voice of Pascal (aka Daddy), cannot salvage the novel from its lack of substance. Even the most skillful delivery can't compensate for the narrative's lack of depth and coherence.
One might be tempted to draw parallels between the elusive nature of the story and the mysterious themes it attempts to explore, but unfortunately, this ambiguity often comes across as a lack of clarity rather than intentional mystique. The narrative's potential is overshadowed by the frustration of trying to decipher its underlying message. The attempt at mystery falls flat, leaving readers with a sense of unfulfilled expectations.
In conclusion, "Ghost Radio" may appeal to those who appreciate atmospheric narration, but the lack of a compelling plot and clear direction hinders the overall reading experience. Despite its potential, the novel fails to deliver a satisfying exploration of its mysterious themes, leaving readers wanting more coherence and substance in the narrative.
Meandering and unfulfilling

so slow and uninteresting.

The book starts out promising and I was really excited to hear what would come next but then I just kept waiting and waiting for something interesting to happen. I'm at a part now where maybe it's starting to get a little spooky and possibly interesting? But then it kind of slowed down again. It'll be a shame if it ends up getting better later on because I'm just not hooked and, quite frankly, I'm bored.
Great narrator. Terrible story.
