Really good book. I wanted to hear something that didn't follow the mainstream religious teaching that homosexuality is a sin. Honestly, I've heard the traditional view my whole life, and I've even heard of gay and lesbian people learning to accept themselves but reject the gay lifestyle because they sincerely believe that God does not approve. It was refreshing to hear an alternative view presented that seeks to understand the Bible in a different way as well as appeal to a secular world. The only shortcoming that I have with it is that it does not really address the issue of transgender people and talk about some of the Bible passages related to that. It is primarily focused on gay and lesbian marriage as a civil right, and it does that well.
