À propos de cet audio

Many alcoholics who might gain life-saving sobriety are turned away from Alcoholics Anonymous by an insistence on belief in a god, specifically, a Christian god. Christianity may not be the official religion of AA, but a stubbornness about ending meetings with The Jesus Prayer, aka, The Lords Prayer is just one example of Christian domination of meetings.

Another is the insistence that God could [bring sobriety] if He were sought, which is particularly offensive to atheists and other rational people who reject the notion of a supreme being.

The author believes that, while the AA Steps provide a framework for success in pursuit of sobriety, they can, and do work without a god in the mix. He says that with well over 30 years of sobriety under his belt, as well as having worked with many others to help them achieve sobriety, both with, and without, a god.

He hopes that this little book will help others who have not found a viable solution to their alcohol or other substance or behavioral problem, particularly those who have been turned away by AA groups who insist on forcing their concept of a god on others.
