À propos de cet audio

Evil always seeks a foothold. We must not give it one.

The electrifying conclusion to the New York Times and Indiebound best-selling Serpent & Dove trilogy is perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas and Kendare Blake.

Lou has spent her whole life running. Now, after a crushing blow from Morgane, the time has come to go home - and claim what is rightfully hers.

But this is no longer the Lou her friends knew. No longer the Lou who captured a chasseur’s heart. A darkness has settled over her, and this time it will take more than love to drive it out.

From Serpent & Dove to Blood & Honey and concluding with Gods & Monsters, Shelby Mahurin's stunning fantasy trilogy delivers thrills and romance.

I didn’t mind the story but the male VA’s performance does not seem suitable for the romantasy genre (or for any romantic or spicy scenes in general). Was a little cringey at times! But the story was great :)

Could have been improved…

I have thoroughly fallen in love with each and every character in this series. My heart is warm. I needed a beautiful story like this right now. I absolutely adore Saskia's performance of Lou, I feel she encapsulated her character perfectly. I will absolutely be following Shelby Mahurin in the future to read anything new she chooses to release. Highly recommend this story for anyone looking for the deepest form of love that you could find.

Saskia's narration was stellar as always, while Holter's was okay.

There were a few things that kinda bugged me. Firstly, the craze that Lou was getting when she used her powers was never resolved it simply stopped when they left the river and was never mentioned again. Secondly, I was really hoping that we would learn more about what was happening in the kingdom after the battle, the logistics of how everything worked. What changes would Beau make, how would his people respond? Did this cause tension with surrounding kingdoms? What changes would Lou and Coco make, how would they handle the Blood witches and the White witches? What about relationships with the other occult creatures such as the werewolves? Third, I really wanted to hear Lou and Reeds votes! it felt like such a cop out to not include them! lastly, I do not understand what was going on with Mme Sauvage, who was she and what's with the trees?

But overall I enjoyed this book, it was much better than the second. it was adventurous, funny with lots of character development. I cried during all the Ansel stuff, but in the best way.

Good read, still wanted more

The first time I attempted to listen to this book series, I stopped due to the male voice. For some reason I could not get past how much I disliked it. However, just like I started to fall in love with the characters, I fell in love with the actors voices as well. As more characters were introduced so we're more voices. Both did an amazing job.
As for this book, what a fantastic ending to a fantastic series. All the twists and turns kept me wanting to listen at all hours of the day. I will be recommending this to all I know!

A great ending.

The story was fun but some elements were unnecessary I feel like this book could have been shorter but I still very much enjoyed it!

A good ending

I enjoyed the 1st book and was excited for 2 and 3 but man.... the story just became so boring and repetitive. Sad to say that I couldn't complete it

After the disappointment that was Blood & Honey, where did we go wrong with this series? I truly had higher expectations for this one, given how long, draggy and unnecessary many of the plot points were in Blood & Honey.

Except for the last few chapters and the epilogue, Gods & Monsters was a mess filled with frustrating tropes, even more unnecessary and loose plot points that are just added in to lengthen the book, and the lack of a strong plot to keep us entertained. Much of the political warfare between the witches vs chasseurs that was built up over the course of the first two books kind of disappeared here, except for the last few chapters.

As for the rest of it, I've literally just finished the book and I couldn't really tell you what went on because of the amount of fluff and filler that we received instead. There's a dragon, mermaids, memory loss trope (one of my most hated tropes to crop up at the end of a series), and a huge list of throwaway characters that cropped up like they're meant to make an impact (tbh most of them were forgettable).

Honestly the only thing that kept me reading was the characters, I wanted to see what the resolution was between Lou and Reid, and Coco and Beau. Most of the drama and "plot" is manufactured to add some excitement between Lou & Reid, and to kind of mimic the sexual tension they had in the first book. While I was frustrated at the annoying plot points to do with Lou and then Reid, I did think the resolution of their romance was satisfying enough to read. I was also satisfied with how a death from Blood & Honey was handled in here, as the characters are given space to grieve.

Overall, I definitely think this series has suffered as a draggy trilogy - it could've definitely been a duology instead given how little plot we have to work with. The characters are just thrown here and there with little sense or purpose, and there wasn't that much excitement when key things happened to the characters. I think the romance and banter here is the key part of the series with everything else taking a back seat, so if you're expecting a strong fantasy plot then definitely look elsewhere. Serpent & Dove was truly the best book of the series.

So Glad It's Over

I CANNOT get through yet another book without the use of *any* contractions whatsoever. I get that Mahurin is trying to make it a stylized way that they speak, but my GOD I just can't get through a third book where every character sounds like a 1980s robot.

I can't... I just can't.
