Writer needs an editor. And some feedback Characters rather inconsistent. Narrator reads slowly and with the same breathless tone throughout, which gets wearing. Too bad, storyline had potential. Barely finished first volume.

I originally returned the book but something about it kept drawing me back. I bougjt it once again and forced myself to listen. Although there were parts that were difficult to get through, in the end, it turned into quite a well written story. I look forward to the eventual next book in the series.

I like the overall story and world, but the protagonist in this feels like he has a -130 IQ I am pretty sure the non-sentiant monsters in this world have more intelligence and common sense than this guy.
