This book should have been so much better given the personalities and the history. The writing style is annoyingly amateurish and the narration is a flat near monotone. The attempt at accents doesn't seem to match up with the characters. General Scott sounds like he is 20 years old!
I am going to give Gods and Generals a try and hope it is much better.

I hope other Jeff Shaara titles are better
