"The way in is the way out." As I read these words from Henri Nouwen, I felt a creeping sense of ‘aha!' beginning to settle on my soul. This memoir chronicles a decade-long path of following Jesus into the places He said He was going. This journey risks losing the whole world, while celebrating the gaining of one's deeper soul.

It hints (with a healthy dose of humor) at what it really means to see, have compassion, and move into proximity (Luke 10:33) toward one another. And in the end, it's a humbling effort to bear witness of tangible restoration.
