Margaret Marin does a great job of creating new and complex plots, continuing to grow the Knott family characters along with the Colleton County sense of place. But she also has a clear sense of the major issues of the times — this time migrant workers and non-organic farming. And of course there is her rye sense of humour. She does it all. I just wish there were more than the 20!
