Histoire
When the Knight Bus crashes through the darkness and screeches to a halt in front of him, it's the start of another far from ordinary year at Hogwarts for Harry Potter. Sirius Black, escaped mass-murderer and follower of Lord Voldemort, is on the run - and they say he is coming after Harry. In his first ever Divination class, Professor Trelawney sees an omen of death in Harry's tea leaves... But perhaps most terrifying of all are the Dementors patrolling the school grounds, with their soul-sucking kiss.

Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Description
‘There will be three tasks, spaced throughout the school year, and they will test the champions in many different ways ... their magical prowess - their daring - their powers of deduction - and, of course, their ability to cope with danger.'
The Triwizard Tournament is to be held at Hogwarts. Only wizards who are over seventeen are allowed to enter - but that doesn't stop Harry dreaming that he will win the competition. Then at Hallowe'en, when the Goblet of Fire makes its selection, Harry is amazed to find his name is one of those that the magical cup picks out. He will face death-defying tasks, dragons and Dark wizards, but with the help of his best friends, Ron and Hermione, he might just make it through - alive!
Having become classics of our time, the Harry Potter stories never fail to bring comfort and escapism. With their message of hope, belonging and the enduring power of truth and love, the story of the Boy Who Lived continues to delight generations of new listeners.

Voldemor ?
I liked this rendition but I originally was listening to the Stephen fry audiobooks, which I did prefer. I think the biggest reason for this was that he actually said the "t" at the end of Voldemort. This version does not and it drove me bonkers.

Jerky, uneven reading and tone.
Reader didn't gage the tone of the characters whatsoever! Appallingly overdone voice acting and misinterpretation of every character and their mood + pathetic interpretation of female characters and any sarcasm or other conversational quirks. It really feels like the reader could calm down a little - this story has a serious tone and it would really help the listeners mood. Otherwise I feel exhausted listening.

Excellent story
As always, the Harry Potter series is enjoyable.
The only thing that bothers me is the narrator mispronunciation of Voldemort. He kept calling him Voldemore which was quite annoying.

Go with stephen fry's reading
Stephen frys reading is much better than this one. Jim dale uses the same voice for tons of characters and does a poor job of capturing appropriate tones in the dialog given the situation or descriptive text that j.k. Rowling used describing the line(s)

Hareeeeey!
I LOVE the whole Harry Potter series. Why does this narrator continue to say Harry's name drawn out like "Haaareeeey" when he quotes one of the characters. He does it for Hagrid as well. It is so very annoying.

Sexist narration
The narrator makes the female characters voices sound vapid and frivolous and makes Hermione sound insipid. So annoying. There was no reason for him to imitate feminine voices. He should have used his normal voice.

“Harreeeeeeeeee”
Ive already listened to the first three Harry Potter books on audible after reading the hard covers three times through and watching the movies count less time but they are just as exciting every time I hear the story. The only thing I can’t stand is every time hermione says Harry it sounds like harreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and I can’t stand it. Other wise everything is great.

Why must all the women be sniveling?
I know it’s sacrilege to say anything against Jim Dale, but why do all the women always sound like their whining? Why can’t Hermione say “Harry” instead of “Harrrrrrrreee”? It’s so upsetting to hear this voice. I wish we could get the Stephen Fry versions in the US.
