À propos de cet audio

Lady Rose Summer refuses to abide by her parents' insistence that she marry. Even more distressing, she wants to work. On advice from Captain Harry Cathcart - a noble-born private investigator who knows Rose all too well - her parents agree to let Rose work as a typist and live in a women's hostel.

But life as a working woman isn't quite what Rose imagined: When a playboy is murdered, Rose returns to high society to follow a trail of deception, rumors, and devious plots - even as a singularly calculating killer prepares to end rebellious Rose's sleuthing for good!

Have enjoyed the first two books of the series. The author has done a good job portraying the Edwardian era and incorporated a good sense of humour. The narrator is excellent and I enjoyed the singing interspersed within the story.

Enjoyable read

I'm only halfway through, and honestly, it already feels like it's gone on for too long. The first book had a fun "enemies to lovers" thing going on but any progress from the first book seems lost. The foray into potty humour feels misplaced and there are too many side plots, which make the story feel tedious and even bland and boring. I typically love this author, and am hoping it improves soon. I also find the amount of characters to be overwhelming. As a result, I find I am apathetic towards the resolution of the murder.

Long Winded and Rambling
