Touching Follow up to the First Book
This is volume 2 of the Haunted Healthcare series from the wonderful author Richard Estep. I find that Richard's work is very easy to read. I read this book in one sitting and I really enjoyed it. His books differ from others because he relates the stories with loving care. His background is in paramedic and EMT work, and he is knowledgeable and considerate of the people working in healthcare. They in turn are comfortable sharing their stories with him and he relates the tales in a respectful manner. I personally loved the stories that featured the Grey Lady. He is articulate, knowledgeable and considerate. These stories may creep you out, but many have happy endings. I read this book using immersion reading while listening to the audio book. Narrator Jack Clancy has a perfect storytelling voice and it shows. Hauntings are based on the life lived, some are sad and others are frightening, but the human element is a major focus. A wonderful follow up to the first book.
I also read a story about a health care professional who worked in a place where when people were close to dying the elevators in the building would go all wonky.
With that in mind I work in a hospital and I was taking an elevator to the basement. When it was time to go to another floor I closed the doors and all of a sudden they opened again with no one in sight getting on. If that wasn’t enough my radio blared static right after. That was enough creepiness for me.
