À propos de cet audio
At 12-years-old, Claire Barker developed a massive crush on her best friend Sarah's older sister, the handsome, butch Alex Williams. Now 27 and a successful entrepreneur, Claire's interest hasn't waned - despite Alex's fashion photography career keeping her overseas for months at a time. When Alex moves home unexpectedly, she and Claire end up enjoying a surprise, wine-fueled reunion that alters their relationship forever.
Are Claire's dreams about to come true, or will real life prove to be more complicated than her fantasies?
©2017 Meghan O'Brien (P)2017 Bold Strokes Books IncThat really should be enough said but to make this review more useful for some, I’ll say that this book is not for you if you’re looking for intense plot twists and super developed, in depth secondary characters. BUT if you’re looking for an updated and more modern version of a lesbian romance novel that focuses on the romance with an original storyline, relatable characters and well written sex scenes that have variety like light kink and genderfluidity in such a way that it feels normal and isn’t the sole focus of the storyline….then this book is for you.
I like the way that Meghan O’Brien can incorporate more masculine identifying women as sexy lead roles in her books without making them super stereotypical and one dimensional.
At the start, I was worried that the audiobook narration was going to be disappointing because the narrator has a very young sounding voice but I was wrong. Faith Clark did a good job and there was a good distinction between the characters. The narration wasn’t flat and the dialogue was well done. I have to come to terms with the fact that Abby Craden simply cannot narrate all audiobooks but there are others that are capable of doing a good job.
I highly recommend this book/audiobook. In fact, if you haven’t read this book along with other Meghan O’Brien books like The Night Off, 13 hours and The Sex Therapist Next Door….what are you doing with your life? You need to stop what you’re doing, go home from work, cancel all appointments, drop the kids off at Gramdma’s and get to it. You’ve wasted enough time as it is.
