À propos de cet audio

An empire has fallen, another blooms in its wake, and one man—who would rather be fishing, thank you very much—has finally accepted his role as its leader.

Thanks to overwhelming might, a cadre of violent animals, and a weaponized fish or two, Tropica has wiped Gormona's royal forces from the map. Now at the helm of his own Church, Fischer finally has some time to relax. But life in Tropica is much like fishing from a rocky shore: it's only a matter of time before you hook a snag.

It seems chi has returned to the area, the Church of Fischer and the village of Tropica have grown, and at least one of Fischer's animal pals has experienced a breakthrough that defies metaphysical understanding. Furthermore, these developments send out waves of essence, their echoes spanning oceans and reaching distant shores.

And unfortunately for everyone involved, they haven't gone unnoticed . . .

Really liked the first 2 books. 3rd book was a bit much in terms of focusing on 'emotional intelligence' but still had a good story line. The 4th book is outright exhausting. Everyone has to be included and everyones feelings must be considered at all times. It feels more like a 3rd person self-help book.
Excellent performance, just not great writing.
First 3 books are worth it. This one, maybe not so much.

A drain

new characters are introduced, the animal pals continue in their evolution as do the human characters and ancient history is revealed.

Story was all over the place. Got tired of the gender identity stuff pretty quick. Just seemed like a lot of ideas mashed together. Loved the first 3 books but this one is a miss for me.

Worst so far out of the series.

Save your credit, this book is 90% filler and 10% DEI. Make up your own ending after book 3 and move on to a new series.

What a waste

Read like a Long winded self-help book.
First books were decent, they balanced inclusivity and feelings with action and substance....but this one just dragged on interrupting the story every few minutes to throw in MORE mushy emotional bits (yes, more if you can believe it is possible in this series) and it is distracting, it gets old so I can't focus ... a very tedious listen, I skipped a few mush-laden monologues but it never ends

A Tedious listen. Want to skip.
