The Darkness War rages on, and a war weary Jonathon Hunter faces obstacles which only humans can create, while an enemy which keeps growing stronger, continues to force him to retreat. Saving humanity is the goal, but can Jon be excused for thinking some of it just doesn't want to be saved? Extraordinary events require extraordinary responses, but is Jon still up to the challenge?

Humanity has its bolt hole in another galaxy, and Jon must stop the aliens arriving there before the Door closes, so the survivors will be safe. It's his job to ensure no alien enters Outback, in spite of those wanting to be more aggressive, and take bigger risks, with consequences he dreads happening.

In the end, Jon knows someone has to do the impossible, and maybe even the unthinkable. The safety of humanity carries a price tag. Jon knows this. His team know this. But only Jon knows the true price to be paid.

I believe I understand this series now. This is one big comedy. It has to be?

The end of this talking book……its the oddest ending I’ve ever encountered in any book. I’ll let someone else comment more on that if they want.
Bottom line: has the Authors writing improved? Yes it has.
Would I use a credit to purchase one of his talking books? I don’t think so. But YMMV and some people might find the series and this book great. This is only my opinion after all.

WARNING, THERE ARE SOME PLOT LINES EXPOSED BELOW.

Borg cubic, Enterprise, Galactica, Sigourney Weaver, all space ships. A General……named General Patton..original that.
There’s the English, the French, American and German colonies. Oh, disturbingly there’s also the fourth Reich Colony, but wait….they turn out to backstabbing evilness. Well now I didn’t see that coming! The clincher is this is all supposed to be happening at least four hundred years in the future!
Time travel, gods like Kali, Jesus Himself makes an appearance.
When he promotes some people they faint on the spot, then he keeps them, because you know…….people that faint at promotions are perfect for military combat.
He goes and almost gets himself killed and tells no one. When he reappears his GF has some sort of nervous breakdown. Strong woman that. At least he’s making an effort on strengthening other female characters.
