Very disappointed in this book that turned out to be a trilogy. The amount of violence, especially against children, and gratuitous profanity should require a warning of some kind. The ending is worthy of M Knight Shamalyan…lots of build up, think you’re going to get resolution, then bam….altogether different than anything you expected, and leaves you very unsatisfied. Particularly for the protagonist whose whole life has been one of martyrdom. I feel both sad for him and angry he’s continually cheated of happiness when he is the only one worthy. The rest of the characters, human or werewolf, they were all monsters and got what they deserved. The saving grace was the excellent narration.
