I was talking to a friend about how when we were in high school and middle school. We would read stories that impact us deeply. Either it engulfed us in the world entirely like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson, or it made you feel a strong emotion. Feel connected with the characters in the book and learn different perspectives. When we became adults the books didn’t have that same impact anymore. This book tho it felt like I was a kid reading a book from the library it was beautifully written. Not only the story itself is captivating. There’s a little bit of spiritual magic. There is romance. There is family drama. This book was one of the books that made me feel seen the main character is a plus size Hispanic woman who struggles with self-worth, super independent, creative but also dealing with family trauma. We can see how the relationship with her mother is and was. There is religious Trauma and feeling like your a curse. I love this book so much. I love the romance of the book but I also loved how the book was about much more than that. I was also kinda surprised about the main love interest his hand I forgot about his hand when it was brought up I was like “oh yeah” cause he was more than one thing he was desired and wasn’t treated like he was fragile or damaged. I recommend this book to everyone I know. Man I would write a whole essay about this book. ❤️ I bought both the physical and audio book cause I just loved it so much. I can’t wait to read the other works from this author 🥰
